Red grape polyphenols

 

The grape extract standardized in polyphenols that GRAP'SUD manufactures is coming from fresh grape pomaces, collected in the South of France, on the Mediterranean arc. This standardized grape extract offers the same polyphenolic profile as red wine with a guaranteed content in total polyphenols, procyanidins, anthocyanins and resveratrol. What is the French Paradox ?

 

Several epidemiological studies have demonstrated that the French population, while eating a high fat diet, has a reduced mortality rate and a reduced risk of cardiovasular disease compared to other countries. This phenomenon has been called French Paradox. According to scientists, the secret lies in the moderate daily consumption of red wine, which is an integral part of the French diet. Further studies revealed that a high polyphenolic composition of red wine exerts an antioxidant effect and a free-radical scavenging activity, responsible for its health benefits.
